Snow chilled the pink paw pads of the well-muscled Whippet. Arrow shook his head, his ears flopping in the harsh wind. The temperature of it all was almost to much to bare. Though the cold season was almost done the freezing white fluff that was called snow was still visible. Pups would easily get sick if they slept outside and young ones would become slow. Winter wasn't fun for anyone.
Arrow sighed and pressed his nose to the ground, trying to ignore the bitterness of it all. He only smelled icewater and dead roots though. No rabbit, squirrel, or anything meaty and juicy. He glanced up just as a ball of black fluff passed him. It leaped quickly and landed on the brick wall. Arrow snorted as the feline disappeared into a human dwelling. He had no desire for feline flesh but what had amused him was how kind the humans seemed to the creature. His humans sure hadn't been. Not to him, not to his sisters, and definitely not to his ` ` brother.
Brindle ears pricked as he heard footsteps behind him. When he turned he saw two hulking figures. Both wore red pelts with an 'X' on the back. The symbol for the Hunters. Arrow tensed as one of them noticed him and aimed his gun at him. He backed up slowly then turned and raced off. His muscles pushing harder inside his body as he raced to hide from these deadly creatures.
